After showing us the one-off, gold-painted 2013 GT-R Premium Edition (MY14 for the U.S. market) designed with the help and named after Jamaican sprinter and Olympic champion Usain Bolt, back in October, Nissan has now come out with details regarding the auction to be held on eBay from November 22 to December 2, 2012.
The car is finished in a special gold paint and features a gold plate embossed with Bolt's signature and his autograph. Nissan said the highest bidder's GT-R "Bolt Gold" will be built to conform to the regulations of his or her country of residence with a delivery date in March of 2013.
Aside from the "Bolt Gold" GT-R, the Jamaican sprinter has signed a number of Nissan-related products, including racing helmets and clothes, which will also be auctioned off on eBay.
All proceeds from the eBay auctions will go directly to the Usain Bolt Foundation, which was established by the Olympic champion to support educational and cultural opportunities for children and young people in his home country of Jamaica.
"This project excites me because it brings together my passion for speed and excellence, and my desire to help kids and young people," said Bolt.
The first man in Olympic history to win both the 100 and 200 metres in world record times and then as part of the 4 X 100 metres relay team, joined forces with Nissan in June 2012 as a brand ambassador. Nissan has said that Bolt will put his name on a series of limited edition versions of the Japanese brand's top sports car in the near future.
