Take a Ride in the Lamborghini Aventador LP760-4 Dragon Edition

There's no denying that the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is one hot and special supercar, but sometimes, that's not enough for certain owners who like to further personalize their ride's looks and make it even faster than what it already is.As we were informed from supercar-spotter and YouTube channel owner Shmee150, who tipped us off about his latest find, Hussam Maatouk of the Luxury Signatures exclusive dealership in Qatar is one of those people.

Lamborghini Aventador LP760-4

Maatouk is the pride owner of the second Lamborghini Aventador LP760-4 Dragon Edition to be built by Refined Marques and Oakley Design, out of a total of 10 cars.

The Dragon Edition comes in a matte white finish with gloss black detailing, and is equipped with an Oakley Design styling package that includes a huge rear wing and black alloy wheels, as well as a customized interior.

The car also sports a performance kit that pushes the naturally breathing V12's output from 700PS (690hp) to 760PS (750hp).

Besides shooting a walk-around video of the limited run Aventador special, Shmee150 also jumped into the passenger's seat and filmed the Lamborghini running on the road. Watch both videos right after the virtual jump.

Hat tip to Shmee150!

Lamborghini Issues Aventador Recall

Problems with the Aventador's headlights have prompted Lamborghini to issue a recall on 144 examples of the supercar.

With nearly 700 horsepower on tap from a 6.5-liter V12 enabling a sub-three-second 0-60 time, it's hard to find fault with Lamborghini Aventador. But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has identified a problem with the flagship Raging Bull, prompting the government body to issue a recall. The trouble apparently revolves around the Aventador's headlights, which can be adjusted horizontally, but not vertically. Misaimed headlights can reduce visibility at night and possibly blind oncoming motorists.

Lamborghini Issues Aventador

As a result, Lamborghini has issued a recall for Aventadors built between July 15, 2011 and April 20, 2012. With such limited production, the problem reportedly only affects 144 units, the owners of which are being encouraged to bring their cars into their local Lambo dealership for a quick fix. The headlights may not be the only problem with the Aventador, though. Word has it that the Independent Shift-Rod transmission that Lamborghini has developed for the Aventador has not performed as well as planned, so parent company Audi could be stepping in to replace it with a dual-clutch unit like the one recently developed for the R8.

DMC Unveils LP900 SV Aventador

Stage 2 of the tuner’s styling and performance kit for the Lamborghini Aventador includes more carbon fiber and jacks output up to 900 horsepower.

Back in September, German luxury car tuner DMC introduced its LP900 styling and performance kit for the Aventador. This week it unveiled a second stage of updates for the Bull from Sant'Agata Bolognese, dubbing its new creation the DMC Aventador LP900 SV Limited Edition. Only ten of the Aventador J inspired sets will be made worldwide, limited to owners of the original Molto Veloce kit and made in one shade or body finish to ensure no two DMC Aventador SV models will be alike.

The styling kit includes new carbon-fiber front and rear bumpers, while the front fascia receives a wider, sharper nose with two "J" style poles, a new "DMC" badge and two Formula 1 canards on each side. The new rear bumper includes the original lower "tunnel" system on a newly designed diffuser with three GT fins and a center opening that protects the carbon-fiber weave if the custom titanium exhaust decides to split flames. An oversized rear spoiler rounds off the rear. The performance kit boosts output from 690 to 900 hp thanks to 12 unique single intake throttle plates, one for each cylinder, an optimized ECU, a slew of new components and a titanium exhaust.

Aventador owners seeking more exclusivity and speed can head to one of the DMC's global dealers, however for engine modifications it is advised to visit one of the company's facilities in Germany or Switzerland. Body components retail for 25,000 Euros, a brand new (unspecified) interior costs 10,000 Euros, and the titanium exhaust is priced at 5,500 Euros. Those selected for the Stage 2 SV package will have to fork out another 25,000 Euros for the new bumpers.

Lamborghini Tells us the End is Approaching for the Gallardo with a Video

In a few weeks from now, the most commercially successful Lamborghini model of all times with more than 10,000 worldwide sales, will enter its 10th year of production, which the Italian carmaker says will be the last for the current Gallardo.

Lamborghini made the announcement through a two minute-long film that takes us for a short trip to the Gallardo's birthplace, while also releasing a special webpage where customers can place their orders for the revamped 2013MY LP 560-4 models and which contains the following statement:

"It’s been a crazy beautiful ride for the past decade. One we’ve all enjoyed. And now the last Gallardo is here, the final masterpiece of the collection. Wind in your hair, smile on your face, foot to the floor. Italy personified. Drive it now, or regret it later."

We do know that Lamborghini is preparing a successor to the Gallardo series, but for the time being, the VW Group-owned supercar maker is keeping a tight lid on information.

Lamborghini Diablo Roadster Replica was Once a Proud Porsche Boxster

There's no doubt that the Boxster series has been a wild sales success for Porsche, and being in the market for three generations and more than 16 years, means that you can find many used examples at affordable prices.

Up until recent years, replica car builders looked at the Pontiac Fiero when it came to cloning mid-engined models, but it's getting harder and harder to find worthwhile vehicles on the market, be that because the last ones were manufactured back in 1988, or because most of them have already been transformed into other models.

One car that appears to be picking up in popularity lately in the replica community (for all the reasons we explained previously) is the first generation Porsche Boxster, and it is this model that forms the base for the Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster we found on eBay.

The builder replicated the Diablo's looks on the outside but left most parts of the Boxster's interior intact sans the floor, seats and for some inexplicable reason, the steering wheel, the upper part of which was removed. This may have worked for the Hoff in Knight Rider, but we can't see it being practical in any way on a regular car…

More photos and the seller's description can be found after the break.
Seller's Description"It is a 99 Porsche boxster that makes a 99 Lamborghini diablo vt roadster shift stick 5 speeds It has original Lamborghini Rims with brand new tires Original lights Original door handles and locks Original emblems etc

It has remote operated windows Power mirrors Airbags,GPS etc. all the Porsche specs and everything works Hydraulic front suspension as the original Functional top with all the hardware on the top as well in the rear bonnet where the top attaches when in use Mommo seats. Not the cheap ones.

$1000 each Red carpet on the interior from the same manufacturer that provides Lamborghini Pioneer sound system with 2 boofers and 4 speakers Ice cold a/c Hella fog lights Apple candy red original paint it is NOT made from different parts from different cars...it was a whole running car with no problems when it was built.... clean title...NEVER SALVAGED,REBUILT OR CRASHED..... it is a kit built on a porsche not a cheap fiero or custom made car.......

ALL the safety features are in working order as they were when it left the factory in germany.... safety is a very delicate issue that a lot builders oversee in this kind of cars i have too many cars...and it is imposible for me to keep them all in this economy , this car really looks good and you better don't be married."

Top 5 Tuned Lamborghini Aventador

If the so-called "standard" Lamborghini Aventador isn't powerful or bold-looking enough for you, then check out what these tuners have in store.

There's no question the Lamborghini Aventador is a fast and powerful Raging Bull. With its 6.5-liter V12 producing almost 700 horsepower, it's no wonder the Italian automaker simply sold out of the supercar in its first model year. But still there are those who feel that it isn't powerful enough. Some may call them spoiled rich dudes, but enthusiasts from every economic background fully understand the need for more power. Perhaps those unsatisfied owners can take a look at what these tuning firms have cooked up so far.

After tuning other Italian exotics such as the Ferrari 458 Italia, Vancouver-based tuning outfit SR Auto Group turned its attention to the Aventador. The result of its efforts: the V12's output has been increased to a solid 700 horsepower even and 509 pound-feet of torque. This Aventador can hit 60 mph in only 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 217 mph. Also added are new 19-inch wheels up front and 20 inchers out back, all-alloy and painted black.

The Aventador Bianco by Wheelsandmore may not appeal to everyone, but it certainly has a look. The German tuner has modified the supercar with a set of its own uniquely designed forged alloys with black centers and white rims. There's also a cool black stripe running down the length of the car. But the real focus here is its power, which has been upgraded thanks to an ECU remap and new stainless steel-exhaust. This Aventador now produces 777 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque.

German tuner DMC has never been afraid to go all the way with its products. So it seems fitting that when it came to the Aventador, things were bound to go a little bonkers. And so we love it. Aside from styling upgrades that include a redesigned front fascia, new side skirts, rear carbon-fiber diffuser and painted wheels, DMC has given this Raging Bull some serious added power. Thanks to some significant engine mods and a new titanium exhaust system, the DMC Aventador now produces 885 horsepower. Interested owners will need to fork over some 40,500 euros for the complete package, plus of course the cost of the Aventador itself.

Capristo unveiled its take on the Aventador late last summer and by all accounts, it stands apart from the rest. In addition to having a new exhaust system, the German tuner has developed a body kit built entirely out of carbon-reinforced plastic. All told, this takes off some 200 lbs from the supercar's curb weight, now coming in at 3,472 lbs. The new body pieces include a diffuser, front lip spoiler, grille, side mirrors and even trunk lining and air inlets. Combined with that new exhaust system, Capristo's Aventador will hit 62 mph in only 2.8 seconds and top out at 220 mph.

Without a doubt, one of the most outrageous tuners out there is Mansory. Never one to shy away from going all out with its cars, Mansory's take on the Aventador is another example of a great idea made into a reality. Called the Carbonado and painted jet-black, adding a host of exterior carbon fiber components, including a new hood, side sills and a rear wing. As expected, it's been given a performance boost of 60 horsepower and 40 pound-feet of torque, which helps to launch the car to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph.

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Pops Up in LA

Lamborghini showcases its open-top Aventador at the LA Auto Show.

After officially popping its top a couple of weeks ago in Miami, the new Aventador Roadster has made its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Lamborghini has priced the convertible supercar a shade under $450k. For that you get the same mechanical bits as the coupe - a 6.5-liter V12 with 700 horsepower on tap driving all four wheels via Lambo's seven-speed sequential transmission - but with the chance to enjoy that sumptuous engine note with the roof down.

Whenever you want to go topless, however, the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster's 6kg carbon-composite two-piece roof must be removed by hand and stored in the front of the car. And judging by how awesome it looks with its top popped, this is likely to be most of the time.
