The next-generation Porsche Cayman is on its way to Los Angeles where it will debut in a couple of weeks, but one Instagram user has caught it early.
Last week Porsche announced that it would be debuting "a new compact sports car" at the LA Auto Show, opening later this month. The overwhelming speculation is that the model in question will be the new 2013 Porsche Cayman, which has just surfaced courtesy of Instagram photographer Frod1966. Caught undisguised at an airport warehouse in Atlanta (where Porsche's US operations are based), the new Cayman takes its cues from the new Boxster that is its convertible counterpart.
Apart from the fixed roof, of course, many of the elements that made the new Boxster Automobile magazine's Design of the Year are present, including the rear lip spoiler that flows into the taillights. Expect the new Cayman to also share the Boxster's engine lineup, including the base 2.7-liter flat-six with 265 horsepower and the S model's 3.4-liter unit with 315 hp, mated to either a six-speed manual or DSG. Watch this space for official details and pics as the 2013 Cayman's unveiling in Los Angeles approaches within weeks.
