The Blue Oval is optimistic about its new B-MAX small MPV that recently launched in the UK having delivered over 1,000 cars to customers within its first six weeks in dealerships. The company said it received more than 2,500 orders to date, most of which before it arrived in the country.
Anthony Ireson, Ford Britain marketing director, commented:
"We ran a Ford B-MAX promotional campaign offering the chance to win unusual prizes that would not normally be available to the general public. Over 70,000 of those participating clicked through to an online Ford B-MAX configurator so we knew there was strong appeal from the start, but even so we were amazed by the true level of interest – especially since most customers placed orders before they had even been to a showroom."
According to Ford, B-MAX sales are "overwhelmingly to private buyers" at 63 per cent, with 22 per cent to Motability customers and 15 per cent to fleets.
The B-MAX features a unique door system that integrates the traditional central “B” pillar structure into the rear sliding doors and is offered with a variety of diesel and petrol engines including the 1.0-liter EcoBoost in 99hp (100PS) and 118hp (120PS). In the UK, prices start from £12,995 on-the-road.
